This digital alphabet strip is just like having an entire alpha-numerical font set. You attach this unit to your font tray with the included hardware and then using the included character guide you only use the segments that you need to create the characters for your chosen phrase. This is similar to the scrolling words seen on some vending machines and modern calculators.        If you have a larger machine it is easy to slide this to the right and and create a longer string of characters if needed.   And on a smaller machines when you cannot move the unit on the font tray you simply move your vise to the left.
