New Hermes Pantograph Engravograph Engraving Machine! Works Great!

Up for sale is a "classic" New Hermes Engravograph pantograph engraving machine! This small but powerful machine dates from the 1940s. It appears at some point the motor was replaced and the cord is new. It works well. The machine comes with a vintage connecting band for the motor.

It works but I have a replacement for it, though it seems to have escaped from my workbench (if I can find it, I'll include it - it's not needed, but it's nice to have). The graver machine comes with three gravers, one non-rotating for metal, and two rotating gravers for plastic or phenolic materials. I did a practice engraved letter to show that the machine works for this listing; neither the practice plate (the steel plate in the jaws) or the font template (the brass fancy letter "S") are included with the auction. The machine does use both the large size plates (like this one shown here) and the smaller standard New Hermes letters as well. The cord for the motor is wrapped up with a zip tie to keep it out of the way as I rarely used this machine for plastic.

That said, if you want to engrave plastic, cut the zip tie and you're off to the races! (It will be shipped with the zip tie for ease of transport.) Long story short (I'm prone to long descriptions) this machine works well for both metal and plastic - you can see what I just did with it right before taking photos. You can find tutorials on YouTube if you haven't used one before. Everything you need to get started (except for the brass fonts and practice plate) is included and ready to go.
