We bought this machine 20 years ago for ~20k, it works great, we don’t have any clients that need this machine any more as we’ve been slowly closing down our shop. We’ve almost stopped using it. I only use it for personal hobby now so I am selling it, and for 1 customer, our business has changed it's direction. This Machine is a workhorse, it's only given us serious trouble once, and we fixed it within 3 days, and 30 minutes of switching the main board out with a newer better one. Processes: It can engrave jewelry (it doesn’t do ring engraving, but contact signature engraving to see if they sell a ring engraving attachment for the 8080).
It can engrave cylindrical objects, knives, we’ve even jigged a sword, all kinds of things. It can burnish as well.Specs: This is a Regular 8080, the Engravable dimensions are 12" wide by 8" Deep. They stopped making engravers with this engraving size a couple years ago. It currently has a standard serial port on it, but we have a usb adapter, and it is working on Windows 10 currently. Included: The engraver, Jigs, Diamond Drag Blades, and power supply are all included.
We will also provide you a copy if the software that runs the machine but we do not guarantee that it will work. Signature can help you with that.History: We've replaced the belts (typical maintenance) and we replaced the board 2 years ago (which actually was an upgrade to the machine, it lets the motors run faster). Other than that the machine is very hardy. Condition: She’s used, we replaced the main board two years ago which actually was a nice upgrade (it made it run a bit faster is all), She’s hardly ever given us trouble. There may be a couple of missing screws, but nothing that would compromise the sturdiness/structure of the machine.
Please ask questions before buying. Price is negotiable. About Signature Engravers: If you aren’t familiar with signature engravers they use a special proprietary software (just means you need their software to run the machine). We have a digital copy of the software. The software isn't very user friendly.
If you decided you wanted signature to help you get started, they would require you to "re-certify" the machine, which requires that you send the machine to them, and costs between $2 to $5k. I am happy to help you get started, but I cannot guarantee that I have the skill to get it working. Shipping: You can come pick it up, of we can crate it and freight it to you, if you need it shipped, we can arrange shipping for you, but you will pay for any and all shipping charges. Allow up to 3 weeks for handling. I might can ship sooner.
